Hello guys, As you know OnePlus is a one of the most popular Android phone maker. And I have one of them and recently got an OS update and after update it showing some annoying green and red line on the screen.

And one of my friend suggest me to run this screen test tool like this: whiteScreenTest.Net

And I got surprise after running this tool, my mobile screen issue got fixed.

But still I am afforded to next OS update, So anyone can suggest me to how to avoid this issue or should I use our old golden Samsung mobiles?

It sounds like you're experiencing the infamous "green/red line" display issue that has affected many OnePlus devices (especially older models like
the 8/9 series) after OxygenOS updates. Here's what you need to know:

Why This Happens:
  • Software Bug: Many users report these lines appear after OS updates, suggesting a driver/display calibration issue.
  • Hardware Vulnerability: Some speculate it’s triggered by overheating or voltage mismanagement during updates, stressing the display IC.

  • How the "White Screen Test" Fixed It:
    • Tools like whiteScreenTest.Net force the screen to render pure colors at max brightness, which can temporarily reset the display driver or recalibrate pixels.
    • This is a temporary fix—the lines may return under heavy usage or future updates.

What You Should Do Next:1. Avoid Future Updates (For Now)
    • Disable auto-updates: Go to Settings > System > System Updates > Gear icon > Turn off "Auto download updates".
    • Research before updating: Check forums (Reddit/XDA) for reports of display issues after new updates.

    2. Permanent Fix Options
    • Warranty Claim: If your phone is under warranty, contact OnePlus support—they often replace screens for free for this issue.
    • Service Center: Out of warranty? Repair costs ~100–100–150 (screen replacement is the only permanent fix).

    3. Mitigation Tips
    • Avoid overheating: Don’t charge while gaming/watching HD videos.
    • Use dark mode: Reduces screen stress.
    • Keep brightness moderate: Avoid 100% for long periods.

    Should You Switch to Samsung?
    • Pros: Samsung’s AMOLED panels are more reliable long-term, and they rarely have such widespread display issues post-updates.
    • Cons: OnePlus offers better value for performance (e.g., faster chips, cleaner OS).
    • Middle Ground: Consider Samsung’s A-series (e.g., A54) or Google Pixel (stable software) if you want reliability.

    Final Advice
    • Backup your data: Lines could worsen suddenly.
    • Try a factory reset (without restoring apps) to rule out software corruption.
    • If lines persist, use the white screen test as a temporary workaround until you can repair/replace the device.

If you’re risk-averse, switching to Samsung is safer—but if you love
OnePlus, wait for the next model (e.g., OnePlus 12) and trade in your
    current device.

That sounds super frustrating—display issues after updates are the worst. Hope OnePlus gets it together. On a different note, I’ve been working on a taper fade website if anyone’s into clean haircuts and style trends.
